Junior Field Hockey
Early Bird Pricing in effect until Feb 1, 2025
Unlike the Mites / Mini program, we only have one or two teams per age group so there will be limited ability to accomodate. It is our general practice to keep teams together as they advance through age groupings.
Practices
Teams practice one night a week (Monday – Thursday) at Cunnings Field (Town Centre Park). Practice nights depend on which team the player is on.
Practices start at 6 PM, 7 PM or 8:15 PM with the younger teams starting earlier. Practices range between 1 hour and 1 hour 15 minutes.
Games
Teams play their home games at Cunnings Field (Town Centre Park).
Players are assigned to a team in March and will use Teamsnap to receive their game and practice schedules from their coach.
Registration includes a pair of socks to keep at the end of the season.
Every player needs to have:
- Field Hockey Stick
- Footwear: Good running shoes are fine on turf; soccer cleats are not required
- Mandatory at all practices and games
- Mouthguards
- Shin Guards: Soccer-style shin guards with ankle protection are recommended
The Tri-City Eagles will offer Stick Packages for $130 before the season starts. This package is ideal for beginners 5 ft (and under) and includes everything a player needs:
- Field hockey stick
- Stick bag
- Practice ball
- Mandatory at all practices and games
- Mouthguard
- Shin guards
Individual sticks will also be available for taller players.
Stick Packages and individual sticks will be available for online purchase and are picked up at the field. Items can also be purchased individually, but the package offers the best value. Details, including pricing, will be posted on the website when available. Registered players will be notified when the Stick Packages and individual sticks go on sale.
Stick Packages and individual sticks will be available for pick-up at Cunnings Field on Sunday, March 30 from noon – 2:30 PM
Uniforms are provided and must be returned when the season ends. An $80 uniform deposit cheque is left with the club and returned when the club gets the uniform back. The player will keep their socks.
